Weddings photography in Loomis
Intimate weddings in Loomis are filled with personal touches that larger celebrations often miss. Whether it is a backyard ceremony, a courthouse elopement, or a gathering at a venue near the Blue Goose Fruit Shed, local orchards, and Loomis Basin trails, Angie documents every detail — the nervous hands before the first look, the happy tears during the vows, the first dance under string lights. Placer County's peaceful orchards, foothill wildflowers, and soft afternoon light through oak canopies provide a stunning natural backdrop for golden-hour portraits. Coverage runs 4-6 hours and is timed to capture every phase from getting ready to the final toast. A pre-wedding planning call ensures the timeline accounts for the moments that matter most to you. With roadside parking near the Blue Goose and trail access points along the Loomis Basin nearby, guests and vendors arrive easily. The full gallery of 200-400 edited images arrives in 4-6 weeks — a complete documentary record of the day.
What is small weddings?
Small wedding photography is documentary-style coverage of intimate ceremonies and celebrations with fewer than 50 guests, including courthouse elopements, backyard weddings, and micro-weddings at Northern California venues. Captured By Angie provides 4-6 hours of coverage capturing every phase of the day — getting-ready details, ceremony emotions, reception candids, and golden-hour portraits. A pre-wedding planning call ensures the timeline accounts for key moments like the first look, vows, first dance, and toasts. Popular Sacramento-area venues include Vizcaya in midtown, winery estates in Lodi, foothill barns in Placerville, and the Sacramento County Courthouse for elopements. Deliverables include 200-400 individually edited images with a 4-6 week turnaround, delivered through a private online gallery. Photographer Angie Shvaya takes a quiet, observational approach, moving through the day without interrupting it so couples can stay fully present with their guests. Coverage extends throughout Sacramento and Northern California, from downtown venues to Gold Country estates.

Small Weddings FAQ
Generally under 50 guests, but there is no strict cutoff. Elopements with just the two of you, courthouse ceremonies with a handful of witnesses, backyard parties with 40 friends — all of these fall into the intimate wedding category. The approach is documentary: I capture the day as it unfolds.
Yes — Sacramento County Courthouse weddings are some of my favorites. They are quick, emotional, and real. I typically cover 1-2 hours for a courthouse ceremony plus portraits nearby. Tower Bridge and Capitol Park are a short walk away for golden-hour photos afterward.
I have shot at venues throughout Sacramento and Northern California — from Vizcaya in midtown to winery estates in Lodi and foothill barns in Placerville. I am happy to share recommendations based on your guest count, budget, and style. Just ask during our planning call.
Your call. I personally love first looks because they create an intimate, private moment and take pressure off the ceremony. But if you prefer to see each other for the first time at the altar, we will build the timeline around that. Either way, you get both candid and portrait-style images.
About photography in Loomis
The Blue Goose Fruit Shed district and surrounding orchards are the most distinctive locations in Loomis — orchard rows create layered depth and dappled light that is impossible to find in more suburban areas. The Loomis Basin trails wind through foothill wildflowers and oak canopies. In spring, fruit tree blossoms add a soft, seasonal backdrop that brings clients from across the Sacramento region specifically for that setting.
Spring is Loomis at its absolute best — February through April brings fruit tree blossoms in the orchards and wildflowers through the foothill fields. The light through orchard canopies is exceptionally soft during this window. Fall adds golden oak tones. Mid-afternoon through golden hour year-round produces that layered, warm orchard light that makes Loomis sessions distinctive.
Loomis is about 30 miles northeast of Sacramento, typically 35–45 minutes via Interstate 80. Angie covers the Loomis Basin and will confirm any applicable travel details when you book a session here.
