That is the goal. Shooting at your home field, court, or track makes the portraits feel like yours: not a generic backdrop. I know a lot of the Sacramento-area venues already, and if yours is new to me I will scout the light ahead of time. Just check whether your school or club needs access cleared in advance.
Fast shutter speeds and knowing the sport well enough to anticipate the moment. For posed action I will have you repeat a move, a swing, a jump, a drive to the basket, so we nail the framing and the peak of the motion. For live game coverage I track the play and shoot in bursts to catch the frames that matter.
